Does Compact Aluminum change the screen height?
Allsop says the six adjustment levels place a laptop at a selected height and angle. This is a documented selectable position, not a published screen-lift range for each setting; laptop thickness and where its base rests affect the final display position.

Allsop says it folds flat and includes a carry bag; the closed dimensions are 9.6 × 1.7 × 0.6 inches. The product page does not give stand weight, deployed desk footprint or an exact laptop fit limit, so check those separately if they matter.

The reviewed page describes laptops and tablets generally but does not state a maximum screen diagonal, device-weight limit or laptop-specific fit list. Silicone pads are contact aids, not proof that every base, case, vent pattern or foot placement is compatible. Compare the actual laptop underside with the support arms and ask Allsop if the fit is close.
Explore this need in the finder →Allsop's Compact Aluminum Laptop Stand (32626) is a small folding riser with six viewing positions and an included carry bag. The combination is more useful to a mobile desk worker than a fixed shelf that happens to be lightweight: the manufacturer explicitly says this stand folds flat for transport, gives a folded-size measurement, and shows silicone pads on the arms and feet. The important gaps are the other side of that portability story. Allsop does not publish an exact laptop-size chart, a device-weight limit, a stand carry weight, or the deployed footprint in the product-page text reviewed here.
Six settings, but no published height range
The product page says the six positions change the viewing angle and device height. That is enough to treat it as a stand with adjustable placement, but not enough to promise a particular screen lift in inches. A laptop's own thickness and the point where its base rests on the arms affect the display position, so compare the resulting position with the desk, chair, and attached keyboard you intend to use. If frequent typing is part of the routine, remember that lifting the screen also raises the built-in keyboard; a separate keyboard and pointing device may be useful at a higher setting.
The aluminum frame has hinges, and Allsop calls the construction aircraft-grade aluminum with silicone pads on the arms and feet. The manufacturer also includes a carry bag and lists the closed stand at 9.6 by 1.7 by 0.6 inches. That folded dimension is a concrete packing check, but it does not tell you the stand's weight or how the bag fits next to a laptop, charger, and other items. The published specification is a folded size, not a full deployed footprint; do not use it as a substitute for a desk-depth measurement.
Portability does not settle the laptop fit
Allsop describes compatibility with laptops and tablets in general terms, but the current page does not give a maximum display size, a weight capacity, or a list of specific chassis. Silicone contact pads can reduce sliding and protect surfaces, but they cannot tell you whether a wide base, a case, protruding feet, or bottom vents will clear the arms. Before relying on the stand with a laptop that has a close fit, compare its actual underside with the pictured support points and ask Allsop for a model-specific fit answer.
Nor does six positions mean six levels of independently measured screen elevation. The page groups height and angle together and provides no chart of per-position measurements. If you need an exact lift or a particular ergonomic height, consider whether a mechanism with published stand-height figures would give you a more checkable boundary. Compact's strength is the documented fold-and-carry design, not a numerical elevation range.
A travel-focused alternative to fixed desk shelves
In the current Allsop laptop-stand collection, Compact is the aluminum model that explicitly folds flat and includes a carry bag. It differs from the fixed TechStyle steel shelf, the larger Redmond curved frame, and the Metal Art stand with seven set angles. Allsop's separate Foldio is even more folio-like and has four angle positions, but its folded size and setup are different. Those are real differences in packing and adjustment, not a ranking. We have not carried this stand, tested its hinges, loaded it, or checked it against a particular laptop.
Choose 32626 only if the folded 9.6-by-1.7-by-0.6-inch shape, bag, and six positions suit the routine and the laptop rests securely on the deployed arms. Confirm the exact SKU, inspect the delivered hinge and silicone-contact surfaces, ask about a close chassis fit, and leave room for the raised display and any separate keyboard on the desk. A folding claim can make the stand easier to pack; it cannot by itself certify device compatibility or guarantee that the resulting screen height will suit every workstation.
